Why is my car burning oil?

Why is my car burning oil?

Why is my car buring oil?  When you start to think your vehicle is burning oil, don't hesitate to bring your vehicle to our shop. When your vehicle starts to burn oil, it usually is a result in worn out parts. Worn out seals or piston rings can lead to a vehicle burning oil. The vehicle's seals and piston rings work to keep the engine oil out of the combustion chamber. The combustion chamber is the area where fuel and air mix is ignited. It is also possible that your car is burning oil on the outside of your vehicle. This is because your vehicle's engine oil is leaking out and landing on a hot surface. Oil Change and Dinner Special is Back!

Oil Change and Dinner Special is Back!

Oil changes are an important routine maintenance. For these newer cars with such infrequent oil change recommendations, we still suggest getting your oil changed every 5,000-7,500 miles. Why? Think of oil in your vehicle like your body and water. Our bodies are 60% water. There's always H2O streaming through us. How to Check Your Engine Oil Level

Checking your oil on a regular basis is a key part to keeping your vehicle's engine running well and getting the most miles out of it. Think of your engine oil as the life's blood of your car's engine. The vehicle's engine oil lubricates the engine's internal moving parts and keeps them from wearing quickly. Checking the vehicle's oil is an easy and quick job that we recommend you do often. On most vehicles that have the digital screen that presents the oil life, it is on your display screen on your dash.  If you are checking the oil yourself, make sure the car is parked on level ground and we recommend the engine to be cold. With the vehicle's engine off, open the vehicle's hood and locate the engine oil dipstick. Pull the dipstick out from the engine and ... read more

Labor Day Travel Check List

Labor Day Travel Check List

As Labor Day is one of the most traveled holiday, make sure your vehicle is ready for the road. Before you hit the road please keep in mind to check things like fluids, wipers, hoses, and belts. Make sure your vehicle has the correct amount of engine oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and power steering fluid. Your vehicle's battery should also be checked. Heat evaporates battery fluid which can speed up corrosion. The weather is also still warmer so be sure that the A/C is working up to the standards. Lastly, check tire pressure and all lights to make sure they are all working properly. If you have any questions about items stated above please give us a call and we will be happy to assist you
