Oil Change and Dinner Special Returns!

Oil Change and Dinner Special Returns!

Oil changes are an important routine maintenance. For these newer cars with such infrequent oil change recommendations, we still suggest getting your oil changed every 5,000-7,500 miles. Why? Why do I have to replace the brake fluid?

Why do I have to replace the brake fluid?

Keeping the braking system on your vehicle up to date on preventative maintenance is very important. Without any brakes our vehicles will fail to stop. It is important to monitor the brake life of the pads and rotors. Something to keep in mind is also the brake fluid. It is recommended to change out the brake fluid every 30,000 miles or 3 years. It is important to keep the brake fluid up to date. Over time the fluid becomes contaminated with debris buildup. If you apply the brake pedal and it is spongy, that usually is an indicator that the brake fluid is near the end of its life. Schedule an appointment today and we will check your brakes and brake fluid to keep you safe on the road.

Does my car need an emissions test?

Does my car need an emissions test?

We often get the question if a vehicle needs an emissions test. The following seven counties require emission test: Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Washington, and Waukesha. A test is required for vehicles with auto or light truck plates. Vehicles between the years of 1996 and 2006 with a gross vehicle weight rating less than 8,501 pounds. Vehicles 2007 and newer with a gross vehicle weight rating up to 14,000 pounds. Odd year vehicles are tested in even years and even year vehicles are tested in the odd years. A test could be required for the following: when a vehicle is purchased, when an owner is added or removed from a vehicle title, new residents transferring vehicle to Wisconsin. Vehicles 3 years or older will require an emission test as well. The test themselves are free of charge and take about 10 minutes. There is no appointment necessary; first come first serve.
