Preventative Maintenance for Engines

As all of us drivers know, the vehicle’s engine is what keeps us moving, if we don’t have a proper running engine we won’t be going anywhere. Good running engines also ensure that your engine doesn’t overheat while driving or cut out through an intersection. Having an improperly running engine is a safety issue when it comes to your vehicle and the safety of those inside.
At Bob’s Main Street Auto & Towing, we suggest engine maintenance to prevent future issues. Each vehicle is made up of 1,000’s of components that work together to distribute power throughout the vehicle.
Oil Changes; they are important! As a lot of us know we can lose track of the miles in between oil changes easily. Over time oil can become dirty which doesn’t give you the full lubrication for the system. We recommend every 3 months or 3,000 miles for synthetic blend oil and every 5 months or 5,000 mile for full synthetic oil.
Tune Up: This tune up service is important to keep dirt and grime out of the combustion chamber. This is pretty small job however it can go a long way to improving the overall performance of your engine.
Keep Your Engine Clean: The filters can potentially become blocked by grease, grime, dust and debris under the hood. When particles build up on your engine, they can prevent your vehicle from cooling down faster. It is also common that dirt and leaves may blow under your hood and may cause issues. Be sure to keep your vehicle’s engine bay clean to prevent any issues.
Call us today to check over your engine and keep it running like you expect it to. We all have an idea on how engine repairs can be costly; let’s try to prevent them the best we can!
