Brakes for Breasts is coming soon! Starting October 1st, we’re partnering with the Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Vincent Tuohy to raise funds for groundbreaking breast cancer prevention research. During October, when you purchase brake rotors, you’ll get free brake pads—and that’s not all! We’ll donate 10% of your brake service labor cost to the cause.
Brakes for Breasts is a national campaign involving independent auto repair shops across the country. Throughout October, participating shops offer customers free brake pads with brake service. You only pay for labor and any additional parts, and 10% of the brake labor is donated to the Breast Cancer Vaccine Fund. In 2023, 133 auto repair shops across 32 states raised over $233,113. Since 2011, the total raised by small auto repair shops is a total of $1,864,180!
Dr. Vincent Tuohy and his team at the Cleveland Clinic have developed a potential breast cancer prevention vaccine, which has shown success in the lab. Funds raised through Brakes for Breasts directly support research aimed at expanding the vaccine to target triple-negative breast cancer, the most deadly form. The ultimate goal is to create a vaccine that fights not only breast cancer but also ovarian and prostate cancers.
