Cold Weather Travel Check List

Red Jeep Liberty SUV | Bob's Main Street Auto & Towing

As the weather gets a little colder here in lower Wisconsin some thoughts may be popping into your head to do a road trip to a warmer area for a short period of time. Before you start your trip, it is important that you are ready. No matter who is traveling alongside you, the snack selection or destination, a road trip is always a great time. We have a couple tips and tricks for you to help keep your road adventure perfect.

PLAN YOUR ROUTE
As you sit down and think about where you want your vehicle to take you there's a couple things to think about. Do you want to stay on highways or go off course a little and take the scenic route? What is your time frame? Do you want to travel back roads that have less traffic or hit the big cities? Do you need to go straight to your destination or can you stop and sight see along the way? These are great things to have figured out before you head to your destination. The options are endless when you are picking your destination and route!

PREPARE YOUR VEHICLE
As you are thinking about your final destination and what route you're taking, make sure your vehicle can handle it. Getting your vehicle inspected prior to leaving on your trip can help prevent problems from occurring. No one wants to get 300 miles down the road and need an oil change or a light bulb burnt out. You don't want your air conditioning to fail on you on your way to Arizona. Safety and comfort should be on the top of your list.

PACK ACCORDINGLY
We can't forget those snacks and drinks to keep us energized on this trip! Some snacks to pack along maybe somethings like beef jerky, fruit cups, trail mix, or popcorn. Be sure to also pack lots of water to keep you hydrated and caffeinated beverages to help keep the driver alert. Keep in mind things such as a flashlight, jumper cables, blankets, extra clothes, some simple tools, and tire plug kit.

We service all makes and models of vehicles (Buick, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, Volkswagen, Chevrolet, Ford, Chrysler, Jeep, Mazda, etc)! We do maintenance services all the way from oil changes to engine overhauls. Brake repair, tire replacement, alignments, filter changes, you name it! We do it!
