What happened to my post I submitted that lasted about a week?

Russ, we did reply to your post last week and do apologize for the misunderstanding with the Emissions test. Your review is still up and online, as we cannot delete these, but was posted under the Google review page for our shop located at 115 W Decorah Rd. This is the one for our shop at 1200 N Main St.

My wife took our car in for an Emissions test, she was told the car failed because of a bad OBD 2 connector. I told her to take the car to our TRUSTED mechanic, the OBD 2 Port was not broken as stated. I then instructed her to go to another Testing station to have it retested and wow!! it PASSED, without ANY INTERVENTION from ANY mechanic. That makes me wonder if you (all inclusive) were trying to make my wife think there was something wrong with the automobile to make a "Quick" dollar. Bad business practice.

Thank you for your review. I would like to start by saying that the test did not fail the Emissions test when at our location. When connecting to a vehicles OBD to perform the test, our plug lights up green to show that it is properly connected and can perform the test. Unfortunately, when trying to plug into your wife’s vehicle our plug did not light up meaning we couldn’t perform the test properly. This is normally due to either a blown fuse or our system acting up. At this time, our advisor discussed with your wife that trying another testing station in the area would be beneficial as we were unable to perform the test. The only way that an emission test would fail would be due to a check engine light being on. I am sorry if your wife was confused with any of this, but hope you can understand that we never had a fail on record for your vehicle nor can purposely make a vehicle fail. All of our Emissions tests are on surveillance by the state and in compliance with all regulations.

I took an exhilarating spin out into a ditch this morning and was pulled out by D.J. Not only was he hilarious but he was professional and got me back on the road super quick!! 😊

JP was selected to tow my truck about 80 miles away in a snow storm. I didn't ride with him but he called me to let me know he dropped off my truck and where he left the keys for the mechanic shop where I had it towed.

My teenage son left a light on in the car while camping. I asked that the car be jumped. Instead the car was towed to 25+ miles to Bob’s. Without asking me they did an expensive diagnostic on the car. All it needed was a jumpstart. I live an hour and a half south and have my own mechanic.

Thank you for your review. Looking at the notes and history of this call, we did have that we were assigned to go to Hartford to help you with a jump start. However, since you were not with the vehicle, you had requested via phone for it to be towed back to our shop. We are sorry if there were any misunderstanding, however, we are unable to tow any vehicles without the owner's consent and would not have taken it without approval first. In our notes, we specifically have that you approved the tow to the shop.

Not impressed, unprofessional, rude. My car needed to be towed after an accident. My insurance company set it up. I WASN'T told who the towing company was or any contact information but I don't know if towing requests are taken randomly by various companies through insurance companies. I received 4 phone calls from a number I did not know within 30 minutes. NO VOICEMAIL LEFT for any of the 4 calls. I was working at this time so I couldn't answer anyway. Then I received a call from Bob's Main Street Auto and Towing which came up on the caller ID so I knew to answer. The girl that called me was absolutely RUDE! "This is Bob's Main Street Towing. You need a tow?" "We need your keys." "Our guy has been calling you." I told her that I didn't have the keys with the vehicle, they were with me. I told her that I was given NO instruction as to where to leave the vehicle or the keys nor provided a time the tow would happen. Only that it would be 24-48 hours before my car was picked up because my car was safe at home and not out of the street somewhere. That was my only time frame to go off of. She kept repeating that she needed my keys and I told her that I would call my husband to see if he was home with the spare key. Thankfully he was home. I called her back and told her he was there with a key. She had an attitude for the remaining 10 seconds of the call. Calling 30 minutes before you are going to pick up a customer's car is not acceptable. Other people work too and have schedules. Maybe call the customer and work something out instead of acting like I'm some inconvenience for you. Leave a VOICEMAIL when you are calling about something important, don't call 4 times and expect someone to know what it's about. And finally, LOSE THE ATTITUDE AND RUDENESS when talking to customers.
