Last week I'd noticed something was wrong with my car. There was a sloshing going on in the dash somewhere. I thought nothing of it of course, as it wasn't causing any issues. I started having "Engine overheating" issues on Sunday, no heat coming from the vents. I figured there was something wrong with the thermostat/coolant. So I brought my car for a inspection to Bob's, because it was close by. I told them the issue with the vehicle(possibly heater core and thermostat) and they held the car for a day, didn't check it till the day after. I got a called today telling about what they came up with. They told me the radiator was leaking and the radiator hoses needed to be replaced. The price would have came out to be over $1000, which was way higher than I'd expected since I originally thought maybe $100-200 for a new thermostat. It was lowered down a little but but there was no way I was going to be paying that much for a radiator. So I paid for the inspection (which by the way was a little over $100, yikes) and brought the car home so my dad and boyfriend could take a look at it. They told me they don't think it's the radiator. I got the email from Bob's for the inspection and what do you know- listed under "Checked and Ok" is Radiator and radiator hoses. They also listed the heat under this section, uh, no it's not. Dad and boyfriend went to look at it and they told me that the coolant isn't hot, no leaks on radiator, and the heat isn't working. Screw this place in general, don't ever go here for a fix. Oh! Don't let me forget to add that my boyfriend had to get his car towed from Badger Middle School back to the apartment(approximately 3 minutes away) it took them 2.5 f***ing hours to get it here and they charged him $80+ to do so. So yeah, don't get a tow either. Money suckers.
Thank you for your feedback as we strive to do our best to improve our shop and customer service. We apologize for the confusion with the inspection reports. The report that was sent to you was from the general inspection report that is always performed when the car first comes in to our shop. This inspection is a general inspection that just overlooks filters, fluids, and the exterior aspects of the vehicle. The next part of the diagnostics that we did on your vehicle was the cooling system diagnostics where we performed the pressure test and is where we found the radiator to be leaking. Again, that original email was not updated with the photos from this and was in another section of the report that you may have not seen. For this reason, the photos were now emailed to you so you can view them. Rick has recently tried to reach out to you to clear the situation up and is offering you to bring the car back to our shop and show you the leak first hand at no charge. We would love to get your car here in the shop, do the pressure test, and show you the leak that we have found. Please give Rick a call at 262-335-2277 at your convenience in order to resolve this problem/confusion. Thank you.
